The Maltings is looking to recruit an experienced Engagement Producer to join the cultural development programme team for The Living Barracks, to deliver an inspiring and innovative programme, working with artists and creative practitioners to engage with existing and new audiences.

The Engagement Producer will be responsible for producing the engagement programme working collaboratively with key staff in the team: the Creative Producer, the Programme Coordinator and three apprentices learning through apprenticeships in administration, marketing & events (Oct 2024 – April 2026).

The programme team is line-managed by the Maltings (Berwick) Trust on behalf of the Living Barracks project partners. It is funded by the DCMS Cultural Development Fund, The Living Barracks Cultural programme has 3 main strands: art, word, and sound, which are to be realised through a series of artist-led residencies, commissions and a schools’ programme. The role of the Engagement Producer is crucial to the effective delivery of these projects, within the specified timeframe.

This is a proactive, outward-facing position and the post holder will be passionate about engaging the community in creative and cultural projects, and be determined to build and deliver a strong and impactful programme of activity.

Based at The Maltings in Berwick upon Tweed, the postholder will be part of the Living Barracks Cultural Engagement team, working alongside the Living Barracks partners.

Due to the nature of the Living Barracks programme working remotely and hot-desking at various community and cultural spaces in Berwick may be required.
