The Maltings is looking to recruit an experienced Creative Producer to join the cultural development programme team for The Living Barracks, to produce a programme of residencies and commissions to engage with existing and new audiences locally, across the region and nationally.

The Creative Producer will be responsible for developing, commissioning and overseeing all activities of the cultural programme for The Living Barracks, working collaboratively with key staff in the team: Engagement Producer, Programme Coordinator and 3 Apprentices learning through Apprenticeships in Administration, Marketing & Events. (Oct 2024 – April 2026)

This team will develop and deliver a dynamic series of artist-led projects and programmes for both local people and visitors.

Funded by the DCMS Cultural Development Fund, The Living Barracks Cultural programme has 3 main strands: art, word, and sound, which are to be realised through a series of artist-led residencies, commissions and community programmes. The role of Creative Producer is crucial to the effective delivery of these projects, within the specified timeframe.

The programme team is line managed by the Maltings (Berwick) Trust on behalf of the Living Barracks project partners and the postholder will also work closely with the Maltings’ Head of Visual Arts.

This is a proactive, outward-facing position and the post holder will be passionate about creative and cultural engagement projects and be determined to build and deliver a strong and impactful programme of activity.

Based at The Maltings in Berwick upon-Tweed, the post holder will be part of the Living Barracks Cultural Engagement team, working alongside the Living Barracks partners. Due to the nature of the Living Barracks programme, working remotely and hot-desking at various community and cultural spaces in Berwick may be required.
