The NewBridge Project is an artist-led community supporting the development of artists and curators via curatorial opportunities, the provision of studios and an ambitious programme of exhibitions, commissions and events.

The NewBridge Project was established in 2010 to provide exchange and support for a community of artists. Based since 2021 at its current home in Shieldfield, a residential neighbourhood close to Newcastle city centre, it comprises studios for over 120 artist members, an exhibition space, a youth prograamme and a bookshop.

Based on an artist-led model, the organisation delivers an ambitious programme of exhibitions, performances, screenings, talks and workshops which reflects the diversity of contemporary art practice, is responsive to its environment and places community-centred, experimental, collaborative and socially conscious programming at its heart.

Staff at The NewBridge Project work alongside an artist-led Programme Committee to shape and deliver an artistic programme with a diverse curatorial voice.
