The Maltings prides itself on being a welcoming destination all year round for the very best in film, comedy, theatre, exhibitions, children’s shows, music, opera, dance, workshops, youth theatre and community events.
The organisation also runs the Granary Gallery, situated in the nearby YHA hostel, all year round, and the Gymnasium Gallery at Berwick Barracks, which opens between April and October. It features curators’ and artists’ talks year-round in conjunction with the gallery programmes, and regularly offers commissioning opportunities for artists based in the region.
The Maltings is also home to Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival. The Maltings is being transformed thanks to investment which will create a new venue.
