No More Nowt works to engage local people in creative activities and grow arts provision in ways that are sustainable and can last, focusing on parts of County Durham where involvement in creativity and culture is significantly below the national average.

No More Nowt aims to attract more people to choose, create and take part in brilliant art experiences in the places where they live.

The organisation was founded (as East Durham Creates) in 2014 as one of Arts Council England’s 39 national Creative People & Places projects. Each programme is completely unique to its place, created in collaboration with the local community.

NMN has engaged almost 150,000 people in experiencing, shaping and creating arts and culture about the place they live over almost 10 years. In that time its programme has brought £4.6 million of cultural investment into ‘Left Behind Neighbourhoods’ in County Durham.
