Bailiffgate Museum & Gallery is a small, independent museum and gallery led and run by a team of dedicated volunteers to preserve and celebrate the heritage of Alnwick in Northumberland.

Opened in 2002, the museum and gallery is situated in St Mary’s Church, close to Alnwick Castle. Two floors of exhibits span 10,000 years of history, with a large gallery for temporary exhibitions, which are often informed by and feature objects, photographs, artefacts and stories from the collection.

Bailiffgate Museum & Gallery’s annual exhibition and events programme attracts local people and visitors to the area, while the organisation collaborates with local schools, groups and artists to produce joint exhibitions and activities, and award-winning community projects.
