6 – 9pm
A thought-provoking exhibition, including over 50 artists and non-artists, What Does Life After Death Look Like? explores reality beyond life as we understand it.
The aim is to ignite a conversation. Does life after death look like anything at all? Does it have a sound frequency, a colour combination, a pattern, a form? Contained within this question is the fundamental shared experience of being alive, here and now, asking these questions and creating ungraspable, absurd things like art, poetry: portals to the unmanifested. The exhibition presents engaging and challenging works from painting and photography to live art, exploring the liminal spaces between creation and cessation.
What Does Life After Death Look Like? is part of a wider project by artist Amy South which began with an open call for responses to the question itself, and in addition to the exhibition features performance events, workshops and an online catalogue documenting the responses which have emerged from personal encounters with loss and transformation.
