Star & Shadow Cinema
Learn the technique of solarisation with black and white 16mm film, and see the results projected onto the Star and Shadow Cinema’s screen at the end of the workshop.
Gaëlle Rouard screens her captivating new film-meditation Darkness Darkness Burning Bright on Wednesday 7 February. The work includes some spectacular solarisation effects which Gaëlle will demonstrate in this workshop.
The workshop is for up to five participants, and runs from 10.30-3.30pm. We will shoot some B&W film with a clockwork 16mm Bolex camera, develop it and use the ‘flat print’ technique before experimenting with solarisation. 16mm film, a Bolex camera and rubber gloves will be provided — just bring yourself and some lunch. No experience necessary!
