Red Reminds Me is an afternoon of films hosted by The NewBridge Project in partnership with Visual AIDS for Day With(out) Art 2024, a day of mourning and action that uses art to respond to the ongoing HIV and AIDS crisis. This annual screening programme takes place in museums, universities, and art spaces on or around December 1, World AIDS Day, because AIDS is not over!
This year’s programme comprises newly-commissioned video works by artists and collectives, reflecting a varied emotional spectrum of living with HIV today. The programme asks the audience to consider the broad range of feelings surrounding HIV. Although grief, tragedy and anger define parts of the epidemic, these new videos explore eroticism, intimacy, mothering, kinship, luck and memory, helping us to build a new vocabulary that better represents HIV today.
Refreshments will be provided throughout the screening.
