Open Rehearsal with Ziza Patrick

12 – 5pm

The NewBridge Project

The fourth in a series of open rehearsals and gatherings with artists working with performance, sound, noise and dance.

Continuing ideas of convening and connection, the Abundance installation becomes a space to gather with others and a set for artists to test out ideas-in-progress.

You are warmly invited to slow down and explore this early research with Ziza Patrick, as the gallery becomes a space for live experimentation. Witness and engage with early-stage research inspired by the storytelling practices of cowherds.

Through rhythmic pastoral poetry and chanting traditionally performed for cattle, Ziza will test how voice, repetition, and sound can evoke memory, care, and a sense of belonging. The rehearsal also draws from shared pastoral traditions, exploring relationships between people, animals, landscape, and ritual.

Engaging with ‘Abundance’ materials that will be moved, arranged, and transformed throughout the space, Ziza will begin to activate the installation as a living environment. One that can be inhabited, reshaped, and experienced through performance.

Visit the gallery at any time between 12 – 5pm to experience Ziza Patrick’s open rehearsal.
