Make it More Middlesbrough: Music, Images & Words

4 – 6pm

Navigator North

A chance to find out about two Pride of Place projects led by artists Bob Beagrie and Alan Hathaway.

For Self Portraits in Pictures and Poems, writer and artist Bob Beagrie led a series of creative sessions exploring self portraiture through image and word. The sessions have brought together people from local communities to create a display of drawings and accompanying poems that reflect their sense of individual, collective and cultural identity, and which celebrates diversity and shared memories of Middlesbrough.

Artist Alan Hathaway‘s Together We Are Unified: Middlesbrough’s Music Heritage focuses on research with Teesside Archives and local volunteers into the history of key music venues. Creative sessions as part of the project included digital skills development to produce moving image work and a collage workshop to create a zine responding to the heritage of Middlesbrough’s music scene.
