Field Shelter: Open Studio

Thu, Sat, Sun, 10am – 4pm; Fri, 10am – 8pm

Field Shelter

Come and visit a new rural studio and project space in Northumberland.

Artist Lydia Brockless and her partner Ed have spent over a year working to turn a derelict stable into what they are describing as a creative studio and project space. It’s still very rough round the edges, but it’s now a functioning workspace with insulation, double glazing and off-grid solar energy supply.

Brockless hopes this small space will be used for a great many different things in the coming years, and be moulded by the people who visit and use it.

The open days will feature a display of some of Lydia’s work, and opportunities to visit, chat, eat, drink, and make, including a drop-in collage and paper weaving workshop Saturday from 12 – 4pm — all ages welcome.

If coming by car, please do not park on the road. A good option is to park at Cawfields car park and enjoy the gentle 10 minute walk — or the stunning 40 minute walk along the Burn Gorge from Haltwhistle town. Please email Lydia Brockless with any questions.
