Delicate Liminalities / 些細な狭間

Wed, 1 – 5pm; Thu – Sat, 12 – 5pm

The NewBridge Project

A film programme presented in NewBridge Books.

Delicate Liminalities / 些細な狭間 explores how humans relate, co-create and impact the natural environment that surrounds us in the context of the climate emergency. The videos delve into the intricate intersection between our bodies, environments, and the shared consciousness of the ecosystem. Challenging techno-solutionism, the programme explores how our bodily experience of nature can foster a deeper personal and cultural understanding.

By closely examining the numerous liminalities of the physical body, social structure, and living ecosystem, artists from the UK and Japan present a dialogue on how humans and non-humans deal with expectancy, uncertainty, and fluctuating living conditions. Navigating liminality and augmented experiences of natural, the exhibition showcases a multilayered understanding of ‘nature’ under the current social consciousness.

Featuring work by Kyun-Chome, Momoko Seto, Petra Szemán, Takumi Tsuji, Wolfgang Weileder, Ella Yolande. Curated by VideoCity, the films explore a multilayered understanding of nature. Curated by Polina Chizhova, Siying Li, Yuqi Wang, Hal Xing, Ning Zhou, Vivi Zhu.
