6 – 7.30pm
February’s City Forum will discuss the ways in which technology is and will be utilised to aide City Planning, exploring live projects and examples on Tyneside.
The event features James Charlton from Northumbria University to discuss the Virtual Newcastle and Gateshead Map, a joint venture between Newcastle and Gateshead City Council to create a three-dimensional digital model of the urban core areas of both Newcastle and Gateshead. The map offers developers and architects the means to assess and test the impact of design proposals within their urban context.
Tom Bailey of Street Systems will also join the event to discuss how their system of sensors and AI technology, currently in place across Tyneside, can be used to anonymously collect data about traffic, footfall, and use of space and how this new information can positively affect changes within our cities.
As with all City Forum events, the event will open to questions and encourage discussion from the audience.
