Artists’ networking event

11am – 3pm

Redcar Contemporary Art Gallery

Organised in recognition of the insufficient networking opportunities available, this free event is open to all artists and creative practitioners at any stage of their career.

The purpose of the event is to catalyse ‘first-time’ knowledge sharing about art practices and the nature of the art ecosystem in which artists across the North East and beyond operate. An aspiration is to identify the first step towards formulating new ways of collaboration and connectivity to maximise opportunities for community-building.

This is a friendly session for peers to exchange ideas and experience in a small group setting. The event will be great for artists who are seeking to learn practical knowledge and skills dealing with the art market, learning about the curatorial process and the foundations of art, or seeking some inspiration.

Prof. Michael Archer, guest curator of the Redcar Summer Exhibition, as well as James Beighton and Aphra O’Conner from Tees Valley Arts and Miyoko Yamashita (Redcar Contemporary Art Gallery) will be present to facilitate the day.

Light lunch available.
