Sophie Keith is multimedia artist whose work is primarily based in painting. Their practice currently concerns itself with the notion of utopias, and works with the idea of creating abstract, impossible places within their paintings, often based on segments of photographs that they have taken.

The subject of the photographs used for Keith’s paintings are frequently found in nature, the home, and architecture, and the imagery from their paintings is built via a framework of references — a catalogue of images that they can refer back to, creating paintings made up from several sites. The works deals with how architectural forms interact with nature and how this can be abstracted and diffused through technology. As well as painting, their practice involves a myriad of mediums, such as design, video, performance, sculpture, printmaking, poetry, photography and collage.
