Katy Bentham is an artist and writer based in Newcastle upon Tyne working across moving image, photography, installation, sound and live performance.

She is interested in psychogeography, ABBA’s back catalogue and lying on the floor.

She plays guitar and sings in a band called SUMMER with artist Giles Bailey.

After a brief hiatus in her art practice she took up crochet in 2022 and has several projects in the works for 2023!

2018 – 2019 – Performed new work for Kathryn Elkin’s exhibition ‘Queen’ and CIRCA Projects ‘Festival of the Not’.
2018 – Co-edited ‘Eros in Blue’ with Sophie Soobramanien, a collection of new writing from the Northeast on the ‘expanded erotic’ and love as practice – printed in collaboration with Foundation Press in Sunderland.
2016 – ‘Doubles Series + Mintier’, group show selected by Lucy Clout and Clare Charnley, East Street Arts, Leeds
